Thank you for updating it and adding new features as requested by me and others also.
ReplyDeleteI would like to add that this is the best software for EOD download. There are other software's also but this one is best as it shows correct volume figures which matches with NSE site's figures. Above all it downloads all indices.
Thanks once again.
Awesome, Loved it. Lakh lakh dua lage aapko. Good luck for applications ! All the very best
ReplyDeleteRohit, I tried downloading the rar file. But I am not able to use the NSE data downloader. For some reason, it doesn't open. Would you explain how can we use this downloader. I am new to this and recently downloaded amibroker but I cant use it unless I have the data in here
ReplyDeleteHi Rosaclara,
DeleteCan you drop me an email. We can troubleshoot as to what exactly is happening.
Thanks,
Rohit
Hi Rohit,
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely wonderful work. Been using it last one week and it's great.
Yes. It does pose some issues on Linux due to issues with capitalisation of filenames. I have downloaded the source code and altered some lines that were pertinent to me.
To make index values go to the bhavcopy file :
Changing this line
######### ConvertIndices.java ############
fileName=CommonFunctions.getDateFormat(fromDate, CommonFunctions.DDMMYYYYhifenFormat,CommonFunctions.DDMMMYYYYFormat)+".txt";//DDMONYYYY.txt
------------
to
------------
fileName=(CommonFunctions.getDateFormat(fromDate, CommonFunctions.DDMMYYYYhifenFormat,CommonFunctions.DDMMMYYYYFormat)).toUpperCase()+".txt";//DDMONYYYY.txt //
#############
works.
Hope this saves you a few precious minutes :-)

Hi Rahul,
DeleteAlthough I have fixed the problem, I cannot thank you much for taking the time to go through the source code and figuring out the problem and the solution yourself. I do need contributors for the project and would be very glad if you could extend your hand.
Thanks,
Rohit
Hi,
ReplyDeleteI downloaded the zip file. Unzipped, now what is the next step ? Is there a user guide available ?
Link please...
Thanks,
Hey Rohit .. Thanks a lot for your effort. I had been a user of Data Downloader for a longtime. I guess I was the one who asked for console mode and am using it in Console mode :) . Thank you for being so generous
ReplyDelete-djay
Hi djay,
DeleteIt only makes me happy to see that you are using the new feature that has been provided. Let me know of any other features which are missing. I will try my best to incorporate it.
Thanks,
Rohit
HBello Rohit ,
ReplyDeleteThank you very much for this updated version,
two request i ll like to make,
1 = let all data gets download in individual folder ,i.e Equity, indices,Fo,Options, currency . , so that if anyone wants to use only equity , and indices , then he can ..
right now [ equity, indices,fo ] gets in eod folder
2 = please add eod data of global indices also
Thank you
Hay Rohit, Good work.
ReplyDeleteOptions data is coming into excel file instead of txt file. Pl. check.
I feel Futures data for Month1/ current series is only required. Can you put option button for that. Same can be done for options data as well.
Rajesh
Hi Rajesh,
DeleteAll the data is provided only for the sake of completeness. Even if you pump the data into any charting software you will end up with a different stock ticker. Something like Stock-I for first month and Stock-II for second month. So I guess having more data does not hurt.
Thanks,
Rohit
Rohit,
ReplyDeleteCan you do someting for intraday data from google? Nse might be overcrowded during market hours.
Rajesh
Hi Rohit,
ReplyDeleteKindly post the user manual for installation.
Thank You,
Sathya
Hi Rohit,
ReplyDeleteThanks for your awesome and Selfless Effort. Is it possible to add the date column for each file in equity as how we see after download from Nse site?it will be better if the title appear in the same order. Thanks again.
I am afarid but due to incompatibility with some charting software I will not be able to change the date format. Please let me know if I can be of some help.
DeleteThanks,
Rohit
Helo sir,
ReplyDeleteI want BSEINDIA eod data . And Intradata for realtime .
Can you add it in your next version ?
Thanking you.
Hi Hitul,
DeleteI will try to add that feature.
Thanks,
Rohit
Thanks for your effort. I had a quick question , is the price data for equities split-adjusted?
ReplyDeleteHi Ashish,
DeleteI am afraid but not. NSE does not adjust the data and it would not be correct if the tool manipulates the data causing contradictions with the prices as shown on NSE. You have to manually adjust it.
Thanks,
Rohit
Hi Rohit ,
ReplyDeleteTahnk you for sharing this software , could you develop the same thinf for NCDEX
I will try to add this feature.
DeleteThanks,
Rohit
Hello Rohit,
ReplyDeleteI am not able to see the spot prices (Banknifty, NSENIFTY,NSE100, NSE500) from the downloaded file. can you please help me in getting this.
Please add downloading bse data too.
ReplyDeleteDear Rohit, Today is Saturday, 28th Feb 2015 and it's working day for NSE. since program is harcoded for skipping saturday and Sunday, it's skipping today's file and unable to download it. Please correct it and make the file available for download also change the program to handle such situation in future. Regards,
ReplyDeleteDear sk,
DeleteThe program is **not hardcoded** for skipping weekend. Please goto settings->others and uncheck skip weekends.
Thanks,
Rohit
Thanks Rohit for such a quick response and I could not have expected better than this. I appreciate your dedication towards this tool and intention to help others. Thank you for educating me and this helped. I would appreciate if you could add BSE and global indices data as well. Thanks once again...Regards,
ReplyDeleteGlad I could help. I will try to add BSE and global indices as well.
DeleteThanks,
Rohit
Dear Rohit, First of all thank you very much for this wonderful piece of software. I am an ubuntu user and still I can use it with ease although there is some layout issue. I have one suggestion to you. when the text file is saving in the equity folder can you name it in EQ_YYYYMMDD.txt format. present format make the selection of data little bit difficult.
ReplyDeleteThanks
