Other new features :
1. Receive news from Administrator ( Yeah !! That's me ). It will be now easier for me to communicate with all of you at once.

  1. Thank you for updating it and adding new features as requested by me and others also.

I would like to add that this is the best software for EOD download. There are other software's also but this one is best as it shows correct volume figures which matches with NSE site's figures. Above all it downloads all indices.

    Thanks once again.

  3. Rohit, I tried downloading the rar file. But I am not able to use the NSE data downloader. For some reason, it doesn't open. Would you explain how can we use this downloader. I am new to this and recently downloaded amibroker but I cant use it unless I have the data in here

  4. Hi Rohit,
Absolutely wonderful work. Been using it last one week and it's great.
Yes. It does pose some issues on Linux due to issues with capitalisation of filenames. I have downloaded the source code and altered some lines that were pertinent to me.

To make index values go to the bhavcopy file :

    Changing this line

    ######### ConvertIndices.java ############

    fileName=CommonFunctions.getDateFormat(fromDate, CommonFunctions.DDMMYYYYhifenFormat,CommonFunctions.DDMMMYYYYFormat)+".txt";//DDMONYYYY.txt

    ------------
    to
    ------------

    fileName=(CommonFunctions.getDateFormat(fromDate, CommonFunctions.DDMMYYYYhifenFormat,CommonFunctions.DDMMMYYYYFormat)).toUpperCase()+".txt";//DDMONYYYY.txt //

    #############

    works.

Hope this saves you a few precious minutes :-)

    1. Hi Rahul,
Although I have fixed the problem, I cannot thank you much for taking the time to go through the source code and figuring out the problem and the solution yourself. I do need contributors for the project and would be very glad if you could extend your hand.

      Thanks,
      Rohit

  6. Hey Rohit .. Thanks a lot for your effort. I had been a user of Data Downloader for a longtime. I guess I was the one who asked for console mode and am using it in Console mode :) . Thank you for being so generous

  8. Hay Rohit, Good work.
Options data is coming into excel file instead of txt file. Pl. check.
I feel Futures data for Month1/ current series is only required. Can you put option button for that. Same can be done for options data as well.

    1. Hi Rajesh,
All the data is provided only for the sake of completeness. Even if you pump the data into any charting software you will end up with a different stock ticker. Something like Stock-I for first month and Stock-II for second month. So I guess having more data does not hurt.
      Thanks,
      Rohit

  13. Thanks for your effort. I had a quick question , is the price data for equities split-adjusted?

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Hi Ashish,
I am afraid but not. NSE does not adjust the data and it would not be correct if the tool manipulates the data causing contradictions with the prices as shown on NSE. You have to manually adjust it.
      Thanks,
      Rohit

  19. Dear Rohit, First of all thank you very much for this wonderful piece of software. I am an ubuntu user and still I can use it with ease although there is some layout issue. I have one suggestion to you. when the text file is saving in the equity folder can you name it in EQ_YYYYMMDD.txt format. present format make the selection of data little bit difficult.

    Thanks
